Have you ever spent over 50 hours on preparation for a show then show up to the show and lose all that hard work you just committed to doing, because I know I have. Being anxious before a show has become a crucial part to my before show ritual and truly shows me how much I care about what it is I'm doing. Even with 20 years of experience under my belt every time I walk into a venue I get those first time butterflies and i lean into them to help me drive forward and create an amazing show ! Here are some tips that helped me work through that and still show out.
Tip 1: Accept and Acknowledge Your Anxiety
It's completely normal to feel anxious before a big gig. Instead of trying to fight or ignore it, accept and acknowledge your anxiety. Recognize that it's a natural response to the excitement and pressure of performing. By acknowledging your anxiety, you can start to work through it more effectively.

One of the simplest and most effective ways to calm your nerves is through deep breathing exercises. Take slow, deep breaths in through your nose and exhale slowly through your mouth. This helps to activate your body's relaxation response and reduces the physical symptoms of anxiety.
